absoulutely shocking! I tried when i was last there i was fishing 12 to the lily pads and i walked round to the bank opposite peg 4 with peg 14 on my left. I looked around the lily's and into open water and the water was literally littered with carp somewhere in the region of 30 - 50 carp!!! i put out some dog biscuits they completely ignored them or spooked from them! So i tried a zig and didnt recieve any indication, although i used it one time in march and had a take from peg 16 but lost it :(

Hope this helps?

Yeah im down from the 30th to the 2nd june. Really looking forward to it still in search of my first menards carp! Believe it or not i lost 5 fish when i went in April on an overnighter 3 i hit into nothing and two i lost in the pads from swim 12! I'M hoping to get in swim 14 with my mate jpcarp. What time are you thinking of packing up, we will be down about 3.00pm would be good to hear from you! What swim have you got your eye on mate, so i dont ask every angler for Darren lol.
On the zig rig front i dont blame you mate, i mean i believe someone must have said they had nothing on a zig and it doesnt work so it is passed down the grapevine and everyone says it doesn't, just because the next person didnt! There could be many factors to why they didnt work: Wrong depths, wrong colours, wrong bait etc. When i had a take in march they were all just cruising in the deep end where the sun was shining and paul suggested i tryed it; 30mins later i had a run but i believe i was to eager and struck much to early :( But like i said in my last post, see fish in the region of 30 to 50 carp in numbers just sunning themselves and they just didnt take dog biscuits at all!

Look forward to seeing you.
Cheers Adam.

I'm gunna be trying black foam on one rod either on a zig 1 foot below surface or with a slightly weighted hook on a kruiser float so it sits just below the surface somewhere in the margins again depending on the swim..

I will also be soaking the foam in halibut mainline juice to give it a bit of a zing.

Indeed m8 the weather is looking cooler (18-19c) and overcast for next week with some drizzle and maybe foggy mornings which is ideal. Juging by last year Menards Carp did have a really long spawning period on and off over 2 months due to constant hot weather, so hopefully we get the calm before the storm so to speak. Saying that, it was batches of carp that were spawning and not all at once.

I'm down on Monday afternoon for the week when everyones back at work so I will have a mooch round before I plot up.

cheers
